About us

Who we are

The Policy Liaison Group on Workplace Wellbeing is a Westminster-based forum bringing together cross-party parliamentarians, government officials, employers, clinicians, and civil society to strengthen the link between workforce health and national productivity. We believe that promoting employers’ duty to support the physical and mental health of their staff is central to business resilience and economic growth.

What does the Policy Liaison Group on Workplace Wellbeing do?

Our team

Through regular roundtables, briefings and consultation events, the Group acts as a trusted venue for expert-led dialogue on a range of topics linking government policy to evolving principles and practices that collectively define workplace wellbeing.

Our discussions focus on three interconnected pillars:

  • Physical health – prevention, early intervention, and the role of employers in supporting healthy working lives.
  • Mental health – tackling work-related stress and improving everyday management practices and policies.
  • Financial inclusion – promoting fair pay, resilience and access to support that enables financial wellbeing.

This is a pivotal moment for workplace policy. The government’s Get Britain Working agenda, supported by Sir Charlie Mayfield’s Keep Britain Working review, together with the Financial Inclusion Strategy and the forthcoming Employment Rights Act, signal a renewed national focus on workplace health, fairness and productivity.

The government’s ambitions across employment and health underscore the value of building consensus through the PLG’s roundtables, which address issues such as women’s wellbeing, disability and long-term conditions, workplace harassment and the misuse of NDAs (see our Events page).
